- Earned a letter in baseball for being the equipment manager of the high school team
- Taught Mathematics at Marshall University (Huntington, WV), University of Iowa
- Bicycled up Mt. Consitution on Orcas Island in Puget Sound
- Wrote three reviews of investment software for Computerized Investing, a publication of
the American Association of Individual Investors
- Won a chess tournament for high school students in the greater Detroit area
- Worked as an operations research analyst developing mathematical and statistical models for
government and private sector clients
- Hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back up again the next day
- Delivered talks on investing to groups around the country
- Have seen all thirty current major league baseball teams play at home (in their current parks
as of 2008) and games in 49 major league parks
- Have visited all 50 states and many national parks
